Chinese translation of Allama Iqbal's poetry launched in China

The Pakistani Embassy in Beijing launched the poetry book. Dr Allama Iqbal enjoys fame throughout the world specially in the subcontinent and in the Western world. This is the first time Allama Iqbal's poetry is translated into Chinese in the shape of a book. As for now, however only a selected verses of Iqbal's poetry has been published. Before this, however, there were individual efforts to launch Iqbal's poetry in Chinese language but not on the official level. According to Urdu language department head of the Beijing foreign studies university, Prof. Zhou Nasreen, Iqbal's philosophy especially that of 'Khudi' remains a topic of interest among Chinese intellectuals.
