"Divided Species" is a science fiction novel written by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar. The story is set in Karachi – making it one of the first novels from this genre from Pakistan that uses Karachi as its primary setting. Muhammad Omar Iftikhar, a Karachi-based fiction writer, and columnist wanted to bring aliens or extraterrestrial beings to Karachi. “I always wanted to show the world what Karachi looks like from the perspective of beings from outer space”, said Omar. He wanted to take the facts about Karachi’s hustling and bustling life and merge it with the fantasy of aliens arriving in Karachi.
